Black Friday has become a peak sales time for any retailer in the B2C space, transforming black friday from being more about electronics sales to one of the largest weeks for retail sales. Particularly over the last few years the black friday sale has elongated to be a true all month affair with a few special deals being saved for the last week or weekend itself.
Volan Media has worked closely with the largest East Tennessee automotive franchise to execute their marketing in the Knoxville, Alcoa and Morristown areas to expand their black friday marketing with deals all month long culminating with special deals for the last month of year. These spots are tailored to work well in 30 second and 15 second formats for broadcast television, cable, digital and social media marketing.
One tip we’d give any company that wants to take advantage of the black friday hype train would be to plan out your fall advertising schedule well ahead of time. Network logs close early during the holidays and all media partners will be much busier than normal, so make sure to have your marketing campaign planned out and produced well ahead of time. This can be a challenge with certain brands such as the major auto groups as often corporate deals are not released to local dealerships until the last minute which means that planning is even more important to be ready to stick the deals into a pre planned spot and edit it quickly!
Another tip would be to make sure any offer you plan to run during black friday or the holidays in general would be to have your offers be compelling and actionable. Run clear pricing offers and make sure the offer is truly something special you wouldn’t run throughout the rest of the year.
